Subsidies for Workers
Girni Kamgar Housing Scheme Subsidy
Eligible Girni Kamgar workers who register their names with developers and pay ₹25,000 after DPR labor will receive a subsidy of ₹5.50 lakh per house from the state government.
After deducting this subsidy, the price of the house will be ₹9.50 lakh. Additional costs for stamp duty, registration, GST, document handling, and legal papers will amount to ₹50,000, bringing the total house cost to ₹10 lakh.
Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme 2.0 Subsidy
Eligible Girni Kamgar workers may receive an additional ₹2.50 lakh subsidy under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme 2.0, in addition to the ₹5.50 lakh subsidy from the Girni Kamgar Housing Scheme.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The family (husband, wife, and children under 18 years) must not own a permanent house anywhere in India.
- The family’s annual income should not exceed ₹6 lakh.
Special Subsidy for Registered Construction Workers
As per the Maharashtra Government Gazette dated 18th August 2017, under the “Building and Other Construction Workers (Employment and Service Regulation) Act, 1996,” registered construction workers are eligible for a special subsidy of ₹2 lakh.
Eligible workers include those involved in:
- Cutting, grinding, and crushing stones or bricks.
- Tile laying and polishing.
- Carpentry and woodwork.
- Plumbing and pipe installations.
- Electrical wiring and installations.
- Installation and maintenance of fire-fighting and air-conditioning systems.
- Lifting and installation of modular kitchen setups.
- Concrete structure construction.
- Swimming pools, sports grounds, and recreational facilities.
- Road construction and passenger amenities like bus stands and terminals.
Registered construction workers or their heirs who meet these criteria are eligible for the ₹2 lakh subsidy.
